Health of my arts

Since i noticed that chinese painting's materials are much more wick and hard to preserve its quaily than the oil painting, i decided to take care of the framing.

Well framing system will help the painting maintain in good condition forever and ever, for the frist solo exhibition, about the center of my painting, i chose the traditional way of japanese framing system .

Fortunately, my friend chi-feng Tzeng who major in Department of Cultural Heritage Conservation is the expert of the traditional framing system, he works in Yunlin 319 framing centre, the most famous framing centre in Taiwan, with the helps of his team, my works came out really delicate and healthy.

Complete the whole framing system, require difficult skills and time, the most important of all: the personality of patience.

After the project started, I had been to Yunlin to work with them for two days, although, for all the complicated procedures, two days ain't enough, but i saw how they insist on every single details.

They cooked the gel all by themself, unlike the gel been used normally, the gel they used is with no acidic substance, which make the health of art works in a higher level.

In my case, the art works is so colorful painting by acrylic ink, so they need to pay more attention on preserving colors. It made the project even more longer. I think i'm really lucky to work with this awesome framing team, otherwise the framing store outside wouldn't care about that much.

It's hard to explain all the sequence, every details arrange in a particular order, and i think it's exactly the beauty of this traditional system: ancestor's wisdom. This is the reason I love to work with chinese painting too, because of the culture inside, every tools we use had their own history.

Painting the contemporary chinese painting with ancestral wisdom tools, combine old and new, this is a interesting issue i want to discuss in my art, although my arts shows in a more relaxed and funny way, but still i treat them seriously in the traditional role.
